Job Description

The Front Desk Clerk/Reservationist at Baymont Mequon Management hotels acts as the guest representative for the hotel. This individual must possess strong guest relation skills and sales skills. This individual must be comfortable working with the public
Primary duties shall include but are not limited to:
Greet guests immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome
Take reservations
Check in and out guests
Listens to and tires to solve guest' concerns
Receive and inform guests of guests' personal messages
Assist guests with direction to restaurants and "things to do" in the local area
Assist manage with advertising campaigns (i.e. "mass mailings, internet special & etc")
Call and verify reservations when applicable (i.e. groups, missing information on reservations)
Be familiar with the fire alarm system and fire evacuation procedures
Be familiar with all emergency procedures including tornado and thunder storms
Be familiar with the local emergency members and must call local authorities and emergency numbers and must call local authorities and emergency personnel when necessary or when requested by guests
Must wear required uniform (includes name tag) at all times while on duty
Perform duties of shift change as designated by desk clerk shift procedures
Be knowledgeable and understand current promotions and discounts
Keep work area clean and organized
Assist with washing, drying & folding hotel laundry
Responsible for keeping the lobby & pool area clean and organized
Assist with meeting room set-up and meeting room request
Understand and work with reservation system Outlook, Word, Excel software
From time to time the front desk clerk may be assigned to assist another department if that department is short staffed
Maintain hot continental breakfast and coffee area in lobby.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
