Develops, implements, tests and troubleshoots firmware modules or subsystems in embedded applications for industrial motor control products. Develops and debugs embedded applications in C. Works with power electronics. Develops algorithms for control system and communication interfaces. Participates in technical reviews with peers to identify problems early in product development phase, and supports the product through the entire lifecycle. Engages in product testing using computer simulations as well as full size product in power test areas. Consistently meets project commitments and works effectively in a diverse, multi-disciplined engineering team environment.
Required: Master's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, and three (3) years of experience as an Engineer. In lieu of a Master's degree and three years of experience, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as an Engineer. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's degree and three years of experience or a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience. As part of the experience being required, applicants must have had: experience in developing firmware on TI and Microchip processors in C; experience in software development in C/C++; experience with design and development of closed loop control systems for motor speed control including BLDC and stepper motor; experience with tuning of PI controller for DC Bus voltage control; experience with design and development of communication interfaces, including SPI, UART, CAN and master-slave configuration; experience with the entire firmware product development life cycle, including functional requirements analysis, development of system architecture and detailed design specification, development and implementation of firmware modules, software and system integration, development of test procedures, unit testing, product and system testing, maintenance and enhancements of product firmware and development of product documentation; experience in OP-AMP circuit analysis and enhancements; experience in converting market/product requirement to high level diagrams, software specifications; experience in working with multi-disciplined engineering team; experience in a power electronics field; experience in product testing using simulation and full size product in power test areas; and experience writing engineering documentations and customer manuals.
